What the price includes - and what it does not
On every new connection the price covers the set-top box, the dish antenna, the LNB, the remote, the cabling for a standard installation, and the installation visit itself. There is no separate installation charge and no separate delivery charge.
What it does not cover is your ongoing monthly pack on a subscription connection - though on the Tata Play Rs 3,600 offer the entire Rs 3,600 goes into your own Tata Play balance, which lasts about 12 months at a pack of about Rs 300 a month. You choose the pack you like. On DD Free Dish there is no monthly pack at all.

Why there is a Rs 199 advance
Booking a connection commits a technician visit and hardware to your address. The Rs 199 advance confirms the booking; the balance is paid when the connection is actually delivered and installed, so you are not paying in full for something that has not arrived yet. Is a cheaper price always better?
Compare what is in the box. A quoted price that excludes the dish, the cabling or the installation is not the same product as one that includes them. Every price on this page is for a complete, installed connection.
Refunds, stated plainly
Installation is the point of no refund - once a connection is installed and activated, the service has been delivered. Before installation, if you cancel from your side and we were able to provide the service, 12% is deducted for TDR and service charges and the balance is refunded. If OnlineDTH Service cannot provide the service at your location, you are refunded 100% with nothing deducted.

Tata Play connections are installed by an authorised Tata Play technician, often within 2 to 4 hours and within 24 hours at the most. DD Free Dish connections are installed within 24 hours of delivery.
Do I still have to recharge after paying?
On Tata Play the full Rs 3,600 is first credited as your own balance, so a pack of about Rs 300 a month runs for about a year before you spend anything more. On DD Free Dish there is no recharge at all.
What is the cheapest way to get a TV connection?
The DD Free Dish HD box on its own at Rs 2,100, if a dish is already fitted at your home (a Tata Play or Dish TV dish can be re-aligned). Otherwise the DD Free Dish complete connection at Rs 3,199, which never needs a recharge.
